So far . . .

Doodle For Google

The doodle for google project was rather fun, letting me open up my options to be able to create a nice piece that really went for what I wanted.

The goal was to show what your hopes for the future were, so I decided to put:

Looking back on the past, even though it is filled with happiness and pain. To be able to join together and not worry about what happened before, and move ahead.

I first started with a brief lineart, normally a darker shade of the color that would be inside of it. Then I began to layer watercolor over the lineart after creating masks for each part I needed to color. The buildup showed where the light and shadows were without adding any of the grey or strong dark shades for them.

Spirit Week

Spirit Week. Dear god. I usually don’t see so many people doing it as hardcore as this school. I participated in Character day as a pikachu, but that was pretty much it. I am not used to doing stuff like that so I didn’t prepare. I honestly threw that outfit together that morning after getting up. xD

Firehouse Label

The Firehouse Hot Sauce Label Design project is alright, except for the fact of the constant lines I have had to put it from the barcode and Nutrition Facts. It was really cool though and I love creating it still. I don’t mind creating labels since it really does take skill and thought to make it appealing.

I am planning on making the basic design in Illustrator, since most will be strict lines and proportions. Then I am going to go into Photoshop and draw out the dragon that will be the main centerpiece on the logo before bringing the image into Photoshop and putting it on the label.

For that I plan to make sure the background only goes for the edges of the image to get that clean look since there will be “Lines” behind it.

This is what I have so far.

USC and The State Fair

Okay, first with USC. It was amazing. The campus, the buildings, the people. It was all amazing. I want to go there when I go into college hopefully, well if I can cover the cost. I feel like I am more of a game designer, with qualities and skills of a graphic artist. Yes I love to draw, but I know I am not that good right now. Plus being able to have more than just one quality will look amazing for a job that involves those two.

State fair now, omg. I loved it. My piece was surprisingly up on the wall, and people did like her. It made me feel really confident in what I can do. I loved the rides and other art pieces, and it was a really nice thing to do. I haven’t had that much fun in awhile, it helped me really calm down and just have a nice day instead of being stressed.

Hurricane Matthew

It was one word. Hell. My neighborhood got hit pretty hard, and we had a wind tunnel created on my road. The forest across from me was partially flattened, and we were lucky since three big pines almost fell on us. Our windows and doors were flexing from the force of the wind, and at one point I had to go out onto my pool deck to get stuff down. I was literally blown across it.

I thought it was over but then we saw the flooding. It was next door to us, and made me even more scared. It went down quickly, but then a few days later, it came back with vengeance. It rose quickly and took out as many houses as possible. Ours was the next. Thankfully it stopped. The lower part of our neighborhood was coated in at least 4 feet of water, and right next to me was about 3 feet. Our electricity and cable is still having issues.
